Ms. Franklin recently was awarded one of 13 Pritzker National Child and Infant Collaborative Fellowships across the country and has been tasked with coordinating Los Angeles County’s efforts to reduce Black infant and maternal mortality rates through communications and community engagement, including building a county-wide coalition of public agencies, community-based organizations and philanthropic interests. Ms. Franklin is Founder of Growth Mindset Communications and is a marketing and communications professional with over 20 years of experience, with expertise in coalition-building, community engagement, marketing communications strategy, crisis communications, and multi-stakeholder engagement and communications. Ms. Franklin is currently completing coursework to achieve a Doctoral degree in Organizational Change and Leadership from the University of Southern California’s Rossier School of Education. Her focus in on organizational development, evidence-based training approaches, systems change and evaluation, and countering implicit bias through effective narratives. Leveraging her experience in projects impacting communities of color and underserved communities, Ms. Franklin has led projects for First 5 LA, Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, Compton Unified School District, Los Angeles Unified School District, a Federally Qualified Health Center, and the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
