Dr. Raymond E. Poliquit is the Chief Medical Officer for Healthy Blue, one of five health plans contracted with the state to coordinate care for beneficiaries participating in the Healthy Louisiana Medicaid program.  He has been with Healthy Blue for six years now and in this role for four years.  Dr. Poliquit has more than 25 years of clinical experience as a practicing physician and is a board certified pediatrician.  He received his post graduate degree from the State University of New York Health Science Center, Brooklyn, and he completed his residency in pediatrics at Kings County Hospital Center in New York.  Dr. Poliquit has served as a practicing physician in Louisiana since 1994 and has held several leadership roles, including chief of staff at Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah, La. (serving Louisiana’s most impoverished community) and the medical director at Primary Health Services Center (Louisiana’s largest federally-qualified health center). He is licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Poliquit is joining the faculty of Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine Department of Health Policy and Management this fall.   He is a licensed Zumba instructor with his own dance studio and an adoptive parent of a 16 year old former Louisiana foster child.
